Landscapes, Artist Statement
The landscapes trace the artist’s recent developments beginning with the seeds of observational drawings and plain-are studies in the mid - 90s and continue to engage with Modernism’s envisioning of the American West throughout the 20th century. This body of work builds on the artist’s sketches and other recordings of site visits to landscapes across the Colorado Plateau in Western and Southwestern United States.
